Having recently tried to install a new machine at work with Fedora Core 3, I’ve decided that I won’t be getting myself a MegaRAID i4 IDE RAID card at any point.
They’re very good, don’t get me wrong, but FC3 just doesn’t work with them. Several bugs have been put into http://bugzilla.redhat.com/ regarding FC3 not detecting the logical drives – seems there’s a new driver for the megaraid series that doesn’t support any of the legacy cards. Wouldn’t be so bad if FC3 had both the old and new drivers available, but it only has the new ones. Ooops.
Had to drop back to FC2 in order to get the RAID card working properly. Maybe I’ll try to up2date from FC2 to FC3 but skip the kernel upgrade since they’re both 2.6 kernels.
