Decided to “nip to the beach” today.. of course, starting from Nottingham means that any real beach is a good few hours drive away. Rather than go to Skegness as most people from Nottingham seem to, we journeyed that little bit further and went to North Wales instead!
It’s quite a long way to go just for a day trip, but we couldn’t go for longer. We went all the way to Llandudno; total driving time around 8-9 hours round trip with about 2 and a half hours actually at Rhos-on-sea just up the road from Colwyn Bay. The kids seemed to enjoy making sandcastles and we all got rather wet because it rained on and off whilst we were on the beach.
Are we mad? Probably, but it made a change.
